Parking Perfection comes right out and says it- this game requires perfection. A neat idea, but less tedium and more variety would have helped immensely. You control a car in the top down perspective while you complete a small number of parking tasks. The control takes some getting used to, not only because it’s hard to remember whether your car is going to go forward or backward (based on position) but because when steering there’s no form of turning degree, just one slow speed that your tires rotate. Usually you’ll have to stop and wait on your tires to finish turning the way you want, or else you’ll be plowing into another care. There’s also a quick brake button but I never found myself using it at all, simply because I didn’t want to break concentration.

Graphics are good but there’s only one model of car that comes in a number of different colors. Just like real life. Some asphalt texturing on the parking lot would have looked cool. No music, but to be honest I’m not sure what kind of music you would put to this game. Sound effects are standard fare.

The game is pretty short, and the only two real challenges you’ll ever encounter are parallel and standard parking, with the kicker being that sometimes you have to use reverse. Not only are the other cars in the parking lot parked unusually close together (no one can even open their doors) but the spot that you have to park in is very exact. If so much as a bumper corner is out of the bounds you’d better re-park yourself quick. If you enjoy the kind of games that punish you for a pixel’s worth of inaccuracy then knock yourself out. I think I had more fun taking my driver’s license test though.
