Snowman Salvage

Snowman Salvage is a mix of strategy and speed as you do your best to keep an army of snowman alive from various dangers. Even as the game gradually introduces new enemies to you the gameplay never really changes much and can get boring quickly

In Snowman Salvage you are presented with a grid of areas that snow can fall in. Once snow has fallen you can pick the snow up and dump it onto other snow. Do this enough and you’ll create a snowman. Over time your snowman will melt though, so it’s up to you to keep piling snow on top of him. At first the only challenge is building multiple snowmen and keeping them from melting. As you progress though the game will send ‘nasties’ at you to try and destroy your snowmen. Some of the things you’ll encounter are bulldozers, fires, and aliens. The game does a decent job of mixing it up. Instead of adding another new snowman each level they might revert back to only asking for two snowmen, but throw in more baddies to deal with. Also in between rounds you can upgrade some stats with points you earn. You can opt for more snow, bigger snow, ability to hold more snow, or do more damage. It’s not like you really get any kind of reward for saving up your points though, so there’s not much depth to it. Nice addition though.

The graphics and sound are great, with nice presentation to boot. Music is expectedly Christmas themed, but it’s not just a rough loop of something that already exists (at least from what I could tell). Although I became slightly more interested with the game as I went on it didn’t really change the fact that each level consisted of moving around piles of snow as quick as I could, and maybe taking a moment to kill some enemies. I think this game really could have used some kind of extra element to it. As it stands though, Snowman Salvage should provide some winter-themed entertainment for you.
